My Food Philosophy

What do I eat?

Growing up on a sturdy Midwestern diet of meat/potatoes and one-pot meals has primed me for a life of enjoying everything in moderation. Speaking as someone who has gone through periods of restricted eating, I can tell you that moderation in all things, while not as catchy as diet trends, works best for me.

I can eat the foods I will always crave {helllooooo chocolate-covered everything} and know that the world will not implode and I will not wake up the next morning 20lbs heavier. {And yes, my mind used to go to those extremes} And, honestly, the bottom line in so much of my nutrition education has been: anything in excess is not great for our bodies. Be it broccoli or pasta, our bodies were made to thrive on a variety of foods.
